"The delegates involved in the electronic music jam were thoroughly engaged and engrossed in the session. Meanwhile, the audience were inspired by what it was possible to produce with Lee’s guidance. Most people rated the Broad-minded session as excellent."

“As a community services coordinator, I was introduced to Broad Minded (Lee) through a colleague whose visual impairment awareness session he had attended. Lee was very flexible and accommodating throughout the session for Henshaws, Society for Blind People’s Children’s activity. He is a reliable and pleasant person to work with professionally and had a lovely manner with the children. The 2 hr Groove-box workshop allowed everyone to get involved and create a finished product that they were proud of. The boxes are very tactile and accessible for visually impaired people with adjustments that Lee had made. We look forward to working with Broad-minded again at the next opportunity.”

Lee came to run a workshop in our rural library over the summer as part of our Summer Reading Challenge events.   He was very patient with the children and included them in the workshop very well. The group enjoyed the process of creating their own music and would have liked longer to carry on doing so. As a consequence I am hoping that Lee will look to come to one of our other libraries and set up a regular group. I would heartily recommend Lee’s workshops to children aged 9+

Lee was an excellent mentor for the students.  He understood the students’ conditions and was fully aware of their limitations in terms of their visual impairment.  His timekeeping was impeccable and he arrived in good time to set up the studio with the appropriate equipment.  He also, as appropriate, took a little bit of extra time after the official ending of the session to enable students to complete a composition, or simply to continue with their enjoyment of the experience.  His knowledge was faultless and his rapport with the students and his willingness to get to know them as individuals, meant that he was able to gear each session to the individual concerned.  At a school like St Vincent’s, things can change during the day, particularly during the Enrichment sessions.  Thus, Lee’s willingness to adapt his programme was commendable, as he fitted himself into whatever happened to be going on at any time when he was present.

I can recommend Lee Gosnay and his Groovebox experience without hesitation.  His knowledge of what he is doing and, what he is trying to get the students to do, is exemplary.  Students are treated as individuals and sessions are run, accordingly, to each individual.  His willingness to get to know each of his students individually enables him to introduce the potential of the Groovebox to students of all ages and abilities.  Each student therefore has an experience that they will remember.
